Protocols for Worshipping In-Person in Church.
June 21st, 2022.
We have reviewed recommendations from the CDC, the Southern New England UCC Council, the State of Connecticut, and have spoken with colleagues in other churches/choirs and have drafted the following protocols.
Seating: Pews have been configured so as to allow seating in every other bench. Please sit with people in your “pod” and maintain a 6’ distance from others. When the last pew is filled, we will have reached our capacity and won’t be able to seat more. To be guaranteed a spot, please arrive early. Please fill the pews from the front of the church to the back to reduce passing by others and generating air circulation.
Masking: Although we are now mask-optional in worship, we ask that you refrain from attending service if you are not feeling well and please wear a mask if you have been exposed to COVID. We thank you for your consideration of others.
Communion: Communion will be served as usual. We understand that many will decline to eat or drink in the church. If you do take communion, please ingest the elements discretely.
Vaccination: We stand with the CDC in recommending that everyone get vaccinated and boosted as soon as they are eligible.
Travel: We ask that if you decide to travel to an area with a high community transmission rate for the holiday season, that you take the proper precautions and follow current CDC guidelines for self-quarantining before returning to Church. For a map of high-transmission areas, please click here.
Coffee Hour: Coffee Hour is held occasionally during the month, but we strongly advise that you keep in mind current CDC guidelines while attending.
We appreciate your cooperation during these concerning times.
